I enjoy walking when I’m exploring new cities and Rome is a very walkable city. One thing that really stood out to me is that Rome’s sights are truly in the city. Next to Trevi Fountain are a bunch of houses and gelaterias. When I was on my way I thought I was lost. It didn’t look like a spot where a famous monument would be. As I got closer I could hear the rushing water and I knew I was in the right place. I turned the street and there was Trevi Fountain. Where lovers and pickpockets are admiring the sight.

The Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Colosseum, Piazza Navona are the same way. Unlike other cities, whose sites are surrounded by hotels and tourist traps, Rome is by residences. Rome definitely has those near their sites, however, it feels different. It doesn’t get much better than walking around Rome admiring the sights with gelato in hand.
